Mike's racing career began in 1997 with his decision to join the club racing division of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and the International Conference of Sports Car Clubs (ICSCC). There he raced a Volkswagen Rabbit in the Improved Touring class at tracks around the northwest, including Portland International Raceway, Seattle International Raceway, and even tracks in British Columbia, Canada. His accomplishments with that car include 3 wins and multiple top-10 finishes, including second place in the 1998 Rose Cup Races in Portland. He was also the points leader in the Improved Touring class in the ICSCC for his rookie year.

After spending a few years away from racing to pursue college and a career in the auto-body field, Mike has again returned to racing. Now he is bringing his winning record and skills to circle track racing where he hopes to further his racing career.

In his first year of racing at Banks Speedway, Mike was awarded the Rookie of the Year honors for the Bomber Division.
